Bills' Oliver arrested on DWI, gun charges
Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver was arrested Saturday night in Houston and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
Oliver bonded out of the Montgomery County Jail, according to the jail's records. Both of the 2019 first-round pick's charges are misdemeanors.
The 22-year-old was pulled over when authorities responded to a 911 call about a white Ford Superduty pickup driving dangerously in a construction zone.
There was an open beer bottle between Oliver's legs, and he was determined to be impaired "by possibly something besides alcohol," according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
Police also discovered a gun in Oliver's vehicle. No drugs were found.
Oliver became the Bills' ninth overall pick in the 2019 draft following a standout career at Houston. As a rookie, he racked up 43 tackles and five sacks.
