xscreensaver unable to find alternatives to fonts
by Zexuo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#53W45)
Since the current update this past Wednesday xscreensaver on my 32-bit host gives me error messages of the form
Code:xscreensaver: unable to find any alternatives to "{some font}"These errors match those found in this Arch Linux forum post from 2018: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=240253 .
The has an effect on the appearance of the login dialog box.
I have an otherwise identical 64-bit installation which does not get this error and has no change to the appearance of the xscreensaver login dialog box. That machine has the same font packages installed, but with the addition of Alien Bob's compat32 font packages.
Any clues as to where I should look at this point?
