MINT XFCE desktop MENU problems after adding new application programs.

The (Mint 18.3 Sylvia XFCE) window-task-bar contains a MENU icon when clicked opens a new menu program with all Applications. It works fine. In Accessories, there is a Menu-Editor which provides the menu-file maintenance. The same menu-file is automatically updated as you add/delete software.
Also, the XFCE desktop pop-up menu (move cursor on background + right click) displays the XFCE-menu with a dozen usual functions, including Applications, when clicked, does nothing!
Its supposed to display the same Applications as the task-bar MENU.
History: I recently added several programs in an effort to correct audio problems with a new headphone. I used the Menu-Editor to add icons and modify the placement of the new programs in the menu structure. I also deleted several menu entries that were not needed.
Now: the pop-up menu Applications is empty :( while the task-bar menu is fine :)
How do I correct the pop-up menu ? :confused:
