LibreOffice Writer spelling mistakes

Hello guys,
I don't know if you guys have used Word but as I type, it checks for word errors. If it detects a word it does not understand, it does a red squiggly mark under it.
With LibreOffice, it seems random. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.
I did go to
Tools Options
Language Settings Writing Aids
On the right side, under Options
Check Check spelling as you type
It seems to randomly decide to work or not work.
I looked at the LibreOffice forum but I don't want to login with my facebook account, google account, spyware account and then post a message there.
