How to partition a hardrive for several operating systems

She always says; don't laugh before asking a question. I am a total newbie, but I need to partition hard drives on my server so I can install several operating systems. I just learned about RAIDS today. So, without further ado, how do I partition my hardrives? Anybody like to lend a hand?
