Drugs, replica gun seized by Hamilton police
Five people are facing charges after police seized drugs and a replica gun at two Mountain residences.
On June 3, Hamilton police HEAT unit officers, with help from Hamilton and Halton tactical units, searched residences at Upper Gage Avenue and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, and Upper Ottawa Street and Mohawk Road East.
At Upper Gage, police found 15 pounds of dried cannabis valued at approximately $60,000 and a small quantity of oxycodone pills.
Four people have been charged in connection with that bust:
- A 17-year-old male from Hamilton is charged with three counts of distributing more than 30 grams of cannabis and breach of probation.
- A 48-year-old Hamilton man is charged with possession of oxycodone.
- A 42-year-old Hamilton man is charged with possession of fentanyl and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was also wanted on two outstanding warrants.
- A 35-year-old Hamilton woman is charged with possession of fentanyl. She was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
At the Upper Ottawa area residence, police seized approximately $108,000 in fentanyl, $13,800 in cocaine, $3,600 in heroin, $1,600 in cash and a replica Glock style firearm.
A 49-year-old Hamilton woman is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin, cocaine and fentanyl, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
Police continue to investigate the firearm offences.
