Keeping cockroaches out of the computer
by dilbert_uk from LinuxQuestions.org on (#54KDT)
Recently, I had a fault on a motherboard due to cockroach droppings.
It's a PC that hasn't been in use for a long time. Probably, I used it about three years the last time and about one year ago, I noticed that it didn't come up anymore.
Now, examining the reason for that, I found droppings of cockroaches on the motherboard that provoked a short-circuit presumably.
With a new motherboard now, I put a small vessel with mint oil in the case of that PC.
Any other ideas or someone has made some observations about that issue, please?
Do cockroaches hide in computers, too, that are used daily? My concern is only to keep those cockroaches out of my equipment. It seems to me unfeasible to eliminate them all in my apartment as I don't have a kitchen and all food is already in closed food storage boxes as I am living in a tropical country.
Therefore, I am only concerned of keeping them out of all my electronic equipment like oscilloscope, computers etc.
