Former Mr. Used warehouse a ‘complete loss’ following Friday’s blaze

Barton Street East is now open following a massive blaze at the former Mr. Used warehouse on Friday.
The fire is deep seated" within the collapsed portions of the building, according to assistant deputy chief Shawn De Jager.
Fire crews dealing with hot spots are expected to remain on scene at 984 Barton St. E. for the remainder of the day and possibly into Sunday. There is heavy machinery on-site to assist with fire operations.
The building is a complete loss" and the Office of the Fire Marshal as well as the Hamilton Police Service are investigating, says De Jager.
Belview Avenue, a side street adjacent to the fire, remains closed for now.
