Hamilton's heat warning has ended but be ready for more humidity, rain, and a high risk of thunderstorms Tuesday.

The heat warning had been issued by the city's medical officer of health on June 22, and extended Monday morning. An extended heat warning is issued when there are three or more consecutive days with daytime highs greater or equal to 31 C and nighttime lows greater than or equal to 20 C or three or more consecutive days with a humidex of 40 C or greater.

Tuesday's temperatures are expected to be closer to the average for this time of year, around 25 degrees, but you can still expect the humidity to make it feel more like 33.

Be prepared to get off the golf course as showers and a risk of thunderstorms roll into the area sometime around the noon hour Tuesday. Starting early Tuesday afternoon, Environment Canada says there will be a risk of rain and thunderstorms that will remain through the evening.

The national weather service is calling for the unsettled weather to stick around Wednesday and Thursday before blue skies move overhead on Friday. You can expect a daytime high of 25, feeling like 33 with the humidex, on Tuesday. The UV will be moderate.
