The NFL plans to cover front-row seats inside stadiums to aid social distancing efforts, but will allow teams to sell camera-visible advertisements on tarps, reports Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal.

The league intends to keep the first six-to-eight rows - including on-field suites - off limits to reduce the likelihood of a coronavirus spread.

The proposal was delivered to team presidents Tuesday, and will be shared with owners Thursday.

Advertisement revenue would help mitigate the losses the NFL could record in 2020 without the ability to fill stadiums with fans. A previous report suggested the league will let individual teams determine venue capacity in accordance with local health regulations.

Under the proposal, teams would only be allowed to sell to endorsers that don't conflict with league sponsors.
