Pass-rusher Shaq Barrett has yet to decide whether he will sign the franchise tag offered to him by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"It's still up in the air right now, about 50-50," Barrett said Wednesday on NFL Total Access, according to NFL.com's Grant Gordon. "We'll find out a little more information on Friday."

The 27-year-old had a career year in 2019 after leading the league in sacks with 19.5. In his previous five seasons, he had 14 total.

The Bucs placed their non-exclusive tag on Barrett, one that would pay him $15.8 million for the 2020 season. The two sides have until July 15 to agree to a multi-year contract. If a deal isn't reached by then, Barrett will play the year on the tag and won't be able to agree to an extension until after the season.

Only five players have yet to sign their franchise tags: Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green, Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.
