NetworkManager unusable and repeatedly disconnecting
by coralfang from LinuxQuestions.org on (#55204)
Since updating to 1.18.0, my network connection is very unstable and nm-applet has become unusable as well.
At system boot, i am no longer connected automatically. If i reselect my wifi access point with nm-applet, it takes a long time to connnect. When it finally does, i get a notification that says "connected", but the nm-applet icon still shows disconnected state.
From there, i can ping remote servers as normal until a few seconds, which shows a password prompt with no other explanation (doesn't mention the access point name etc).
If i dismiss this prompt, the network cuts off and is unusable until restarting the networkmanager daemon.
Also, many of the interface buttons on nm-applet are not clickable, even the about dialog is impossible to close. Maybe worth mentioning that nmtui has similar problems. It's become unusable since i updated yesterday.
