How do you move directories and files, when both have long file names?
by Pen guin from LinuxQuestions.org on (#558EZ)
When I named my files and directories, (years ago) I never thought I'd be transferring to Linux.
So, I have file or directory names like: My Stuff, which became my-stuff. or My Favourite Things, which became my-favourite-things.
My question is, how would I get my-favourite-things, (which is on my external (local-data) and my-favourite-things, is inside a directory called my-stuff. How would I get the file to a directory in my home folder?
I've searched the internet, and I've found that generally they use easy examples like "test" for the name of the folder or file. I haven't seen anything like I'm presenting here...
Thanks for the help.
