Looking for the Linux equivalent of Axcrypt

I can find plenty of disk encryption tools, but all I am looking is a simple single file encryption app like Axcrypt. And I'd prefer NOT to have to run the old version of Axcrypt in WINE.

Can anyone suggest one?.
