Current and screen resolution

I have noticed now, after changing the resolution and saving it - exiting xorg and then coming back in, it is not retained and this seems to happen on any WM / DE. Can anyone replicate this? I have seen this behavior on KDE4, MATE and Cinnamon right now, so I have to assume it affects all WM / DEs at this point.

FWWIW I am using a VM and I do have the VM Tools installed.

Also if this helps, I haven't completely kept up with --Current, so I downloaded all of --Current again yesterday if that means anything.

Also the install of --Current is fresh after downloading --Current.
