How to install Linux on an Acer Aspire One ZG5

Hi, I would like to start using Linux again after a long time and would appreciate some advice on which is a good version for an old netbook and how to download and install it using a USB stick. I have heard about Puppy Linux, but don't know which version to try or how to go about installing it. Thank you.
