Ancaster couple wins $100K in Super Set For Life lottery

Shawn Witzell and Erin King of Ancaster are $100,000 richer after winning with Instant Super Set For Life lottery from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation(OLG).

Shawn, 40, and Erin, 46, discovered their win when Erin played their ticket. They picked up their prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, which has resumed in-person prize claims for winning-ticket holders of $50,000 or more by-appointment only.

I revealed the prize and was so shocked," Erin said in an OLG news release. I showed Shawn and we decided to check it on the OLG Lottery App. When the words 'Big Winner' appeared on the screen, we were ecstatic," she said.

I sent a photo of the winning ticket to our family and they thought it was a fake!" said Shawn in the release.

The couple is still considering their plans for the windfall. We're going to do some nice things for our family. We're enjoying the time to figure out what to do - it's nice to just know that it's there," they said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac's on Garth Street in Hamilton.

To better protect customers and staff, OLG says it has put in place appropriate health and safety protocols in accordance with guidelines from public health officials, which include physical distancing measures, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment and the pre-screening of visitors before granting entry.

Currently, OLG is reaching out to major prize winners ($50,000-plus) who have been unable to claim their prizes due to COVID-19 to schedule appointments for in-person prize claims. In the coming weeks, OLG will open appointments to anyone wishing to claim their prize in-person at the prize centre.
