Firefox freezes my system

I was using slackware for years without any problem but 2 months ago decided to try some other distros. As slackware 14.2 is the fastest on my older computer I installed it back yesterday.
Now I have a problem with system freeze that I cannot solve. It happens every time when I close firefox, sometimes immediately other times up to 5 seconds later. Once it happened during the browsing. I use xfce, but the same happens in twm.
I tried to switch back from nvidia proprietary driver to nouveau, to remove completely the ~/.mozilla ~/.cache dirs, to use the firefox 78.0.2 binary package, but non of the these helped.

So I thought that I messed up something during the install or system configuration as I didn't have this problem two months ago. Because of that I reinstalled the whole system and upgraded all the packages. Didn't touch anything else, but it froze again on first firefox close and any other time after that.

Today it was time for 3rd system reinstall. Didn't do any upgrade just went straight into the X after the first bootup and ran firefox. This time no freeze on close after multiple attempts or system restarts.

So I believe there is a bug in one of the packages that was upgraded recently but don't how to find in which one.
Any idea how to troubleshoot this except to upgrade package by package, that would take too long.
