The task bar and start menu disappeared
by Elanor from LinuxQuestions.org on (#55PN2)
Hello!
I installed Linux Ubuntu MINT cinnamon, alongside the existing Windows. I have started up in Linux almost exclusively and am loving it! Yay! Away from MS!
However, the bar at the bottom of the screen, where you can normally click on a firefox icon or other application icon and launch it, where at the bottom right there is usually your little menu that shows printers, clocks and such. I am not sure what to call the bar: I believe it is the task bar. Well it is GONE. I have no way to get to a start menu. I did not notice having done anything to make it go away.
Perhaps I missed doing an update? What can I do to get the start menu and task bar back?
Thanks!
