System halts from high cpu usage by kworker and disk filled up with huge log files.

Youtube video hangs up. 'top' terminal command shows high CPU usage by kworker. The disk is filled up by huge size log files, Syslog, and kernal.log.
After cleaning up the log files in the system disk, it works fine for a while, perhaps an hour or two. Then, it happens again.
My laptop is an old DELL 32b Inspiron laptop and I run Linux Mint 19.3 Mate. I am a newbie and an over-the-hill retiree.
