Because I have reasons to need a broad Linux forum, and while newer social sites can do a fairly decent job for casual conversation, I've always preferred bulletin boards for the potentially better depth.

I've been using Linux for nearly 15 years, and have a prevailing interest in FOSS media software (including bug reporting, troubleshooting, and actually maintaining a project or two or parts of others).

Generally have stuck with some flavor of Ubuntu ever since 5.10, although have installed other distros in VMs for specific purposes.
