Report: NFL expected to move up opt-out deadline

NFL players who are still undecided on whether they'll play during the COVID-19 pandemic might be running out of time to mull over their choice.

The league is expected to move up the deadline for players to opt out of the coming season to Tuesday or Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Players were expected to have a full week to decide after the league and NFLPA finalize revisions to the collective bargaining agreement. As of Saturday afternoon, that step still wasn't completed.

Players deemed to be at high risk of complications from COVID-19 are expected to receive $350,000 and an accrued NFL season if they opt out of playing. Those who aren't high risk but decide to opt out will get $150,000.
