updated to lastest -current. Problems on KDE4.

Hi all, after some months I've tried an update to latest current following the usual "slackpkg update; slackpkg install-new; slackpkg upgrade-all; slackpkg clean-system" but ended-up with a not working kde.
I mean... kde is running but I cannot get keyboard to work, and kdewallet says something about pinentry not working.
The only key combination that works is the switching to a console, which helped to reboot the machine.
I suspect it could be something tied to PAM ( my current is not PAM-aware, probably the latest before pam introduction ) but I don't know how to fix this.
Is there something I'm missing in the upgrade phase I should do before getting all running ?
Luckily I always do upgrade on another partition so I can boot in and out from the environment, so no big deal, but I would like to complete the upgrade.
Thanks in advance.
