[SOLVED] Old installation in new pc
by francesco bat from LinuxQuestions.org on (#56V86)
Hi.
Yesterday i bought new pc desktop.
I mounted old disk with installation slackware 14.2 stable of previous old pc.
I managed to get the slacware to start, but after boot it does error (i believe a problem of some reference of the old partition).
Now it is sdb5, before was sda5.
In Extlinux boot loader i have:
Code:LABEL huge
MENU LABEL Slackware (Huge)
KERNEL /boot/vmlinuz-huge-4.4.14
APPEND root=/dev/sdb5 roBefore i had sda5 and it worked, now i changed in sdb5 like i have reported.
In fact, it starts, but after it stop and ask me root password in shell.
I can login in root password but i don't know how i can to do to solve because i don't understand the problem.
Someone knows what needs to be done to start old slackware in new pc over to edit boot loader?
Bye
