Two dead in four-vehicle Brant County crash
Two people have died in a four-vehicle crash Sunday in Brant County.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the collision involving two motorcycles, a pickup truck and an SUV at the intersection of Brant County Road 22 and Baptist Church Road.
Cont. Ed Sanchuk of the Brant County OPP said at approximately 1:30 p.m. Brant and Six Nations first responders arrived at the crash site.
Two motorcycles, Sanchuk says, were being driven northbound on Brant County Road 22 when a pickup truck driver travelling east on Baptist Church Road crossed into the path of both motorcycles," Sanchuk said.
The driver and passenger of one motorcycle were thrown from the bike.
Sanchuk said first responders performed CPR on the passenger, but they died at the scene.
The rider was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died in hospital.
Sanchuk said the driver of the other motorcycle was also thrown from the bike, and was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck then crashed into an SUV at a Baptist Church Road stop sign.
Sanchuk said the SUV driver wasn't injured and the pickup truck driver had minor injuries.
The driver of that pickup truck is co-operating, Sanchuk said.
