Xsane not working in Mint 20

Hello
I try to scan the same way I did with my former Linux Mint 19.3, but now I get this: "Could not open unit 'hpaio:/usb/Deskjet_series?serial=CN39T2DR7F0604': Defect in I/O of unit." (forgive my french, the original text is in swedish...).
Tried to install and reinstall the printer numerous times, no use. How should I proceed to correct this? Anyone?
