Report: Cook, Vikings break off contract talks
Contract talks between the Minnesota Vikings and running back Dalvin Cook broke off Tuesday, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Cook has said he's focused on the regular season ahead of the last year of his rookie contract, Pelissero adds.
The Vikings had reportedly held the 2019 Pro Bowler out of some team drills after padded activities started at training camp Monday while the sides discussed a long-term deal.
Cook reported to camp on time on July 28 and recently rebuffed holdout rumors that surfaced during the offseason.
The 25-year-old Florida State product broke out last season after missing 17 games due to injury over his first two pro campaigns. He amassed 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in 14 games in 2019.
The 2017 second-round pick is set to earn $1.33 million in base salary in 2020, according to Spotrac.
