Previously working ktown then upgraded -- now plasma loads but no desktop
by kentucky_slim from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5759A)
Decided to run a significant upgrade to my desktop running -Current. Finally installed PAM, etc.
Had a previously well running system and after upgrade had a missing lib error:
libelogind.so.0
so I installed elogind-243.7-x86_64-1alien
Also installed new NVidia driver.
Upgraded versions:
kded-5.68.0-x86_64-1alien ----> kded5.72.0-x86_64-1alien
plasma5-nm-5.18.3-x86_64-1alien ----> plasma-nm-5.19.4-x86_64-1alien
qt5-5.13.2-x86_64-3 ----> qt5-5.15.0-x86_64-1
Now X starts, Plasma 5 splash screens shows, long load time then I get a black screen and a cursor. Can move the cursor, but nothing else.
THoughts?
