Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Melvin Ingram will return to practice after signing an "adjusted contract" Thursday, guaranteeing his entire 2020 salary, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Ingram sat out drills this week out of frustration over his previous deal, though head coach Anthony Lynn noted he still attended meetings and walkthroughs.

The 31-year-old lobbied for a long-term extension with the Chargers, but will still hit free agency in 2021.

The defensive end inked a four-year, $64-million extension in 2017 and will reportedly make $16 million this season.

Ingram has earned three straight Pro Bowl berths and has amassed at least seven sacks in each of his last five campaigns.
