Installing Debian 10 on a "slate"

I have purchased a used Samsung Series 7 Slate XE700T1A (Windows 7P) for a family member in a nursing home to play the simple games provided in Linux distros.
I have found a link (the only one I could find on the subject) on the Internet on how do do the installation: Quote:
This link does not work in my case, apparently, because this howto relied on a keyboard (to press F10) which my unit does not have, neither does it have a "docking station" and I have no bluetooth keyboard.
This link advises to press simultaneously "Power-up" and "Home" to enter BIOS which works
then navigate within the BIOS using "volume" and "lock" which also works
then within the BOOT submenu, the screen shows my USB stick (holding a Debian 10 ISO intended to download and install Debian 10), the USB stick is in position 2, which I can highlight but I cannot find the combination of button presses that will shift it to position 1, allowing the gadget to boot from USB, this also means that I was unable to move back to the EXIT submenu to save settings which may also present difficulties I am not aware of yet (I barely know what BIOS do)
Pressing simultaneously both volume keys and the lock (Enter) key does not do anything at this stage.
Has anyone any advice?
