Scientist demonstrates just how water-repellent lycopodium spores are

Lycopodium spores repel water so strongly that you can dip your spore-covered hand into water and it will stay completely dry. The hydrophobic spores are highly flammable, too, so they are often used to make fireballs in theatrical performances.
