The Seattle Seahawks re-signed wide receiver Josh Gordon, his agency announced Thursday.

The 29-year-old applied for reinstatement in June and is awaiting the league's decision. He'll receive a one-year contract from the Seahawks and could earn more than $1 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Gordon led the NFL in receiving in 2013 before suspensions derailed his career. He received his fifth ban in December after violating the league's policies on performance-enhancing drugs and substance abuse.

He was hoping to be cleared in time for training camp in July and will now attempt to be reinstated before the start of the regular season.

The receiver was waived by the New England Patriots last October and Seattle claimed him shortly after. He played in five games for the Seahawks prior to his suspension, catching seven passes for 139 yards.

Gordon joins a loaded receiving corps for star quarterback Russell Wilson that includes Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Phillip Dorsett, Paul Richardson, and David Moore.
