copy paste can be done only once

I highlight a text, select to copy, and then right button to paste somewhere, and then, the highlighting color is gone and I cannot paste the same text another time. What causes that? I believe it must be a setting issue, but just don't know what is it. I tried to google, but cannot find anything useful with my description of the problem. Really appreciated to any help!!
