Report: Texans ink Watson to 4-year, $160M extension
The Houston Texans and star quarterback Deshaun Watson agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $160 million, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Watson, who had two years remaining on his rookie deal, is now under contract through the 2025 season, and his annual salary trails only Patrick Mahomes.

The 2017 first-round pick reportedly also received $111 million in guaranteed money.
Watson established himself as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks across his first three seasons in the league. The 24-year-old made the Pro Bowl and led the Texans to the AFC South title in each of the last two years.
With Mahomes signing a near-unprecedented 10-year deal featuring a unique structure, Watson will actually be the league's top earner throughout this pact.
Texans' QB Deshaun Watson will make $39 million per year in base salary, on average, over the next four years, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL during that time frame.

Houston selected him with the 12th overall pick in 2017 following Watson's standout career at Clemson, where he won a national title in 2016.
