VMWare/Slackware--current compatability?

OK so I am re-editing this thread because another issue popped up. Now my keyboard and mouse do not work at all. Again, as mentioned in the OP title, this is for Slackware--current only! 14.2 is doing fine, and I'll be using this until I can figure out what happened. I even tried unplugging/plugging the keyboard/mouse back in, and nothing. I will leave the original post below untouched. I will be deep diving into this and document any findings, if any. Thanks.

So after installing Slackware and the additional VMWare Tools, everything works beautiful. However after a reboot, my display reverts back to the original way it was. It's as though I didn't install VMWare Tools. I checked to make sure the directories were installed; they were indeed installed into the system. The strange part is 14.2 doesn't do that at all. As far as how the installation process differed, I don't think I changed anything. I followed the EXACT same steps as when I installed 14.2. What's even more strange is after I rebooted, I re-installed VMWare Tools again (even though it's already there) to see what would happen. It immediately fixes the problem. It's almost as if something isn't being saved in a file or config. I've scoured for hours last night as to not bother anyone. I was trying to make a learning experience out of this but alas, I am here. Thanks for any suggestions!!latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=2x-TH3j_CTc:pjGpN5GEwUI:F7zBnMy latest?i=2x-TH3j_CTc:pjGpN5GEwUI:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=2x-TH3j_CTc:pjGpN5GEwUI:gIN9vFw2x-TH3j_CTc
