VLC player for Slackware
by gardenair from LinuxQuestions.org on (#57TGZ)
hi,
In my home laptop, I have installed Slackware 14.2 (64 bit) in a virtual box. It is a good experience for me & really finds it interesting.I appreciate Alien" and the Slackware team for their best efforts for the development of such a wonderful operating system.
Coming to my point after reading Slackware documents/alien.slackbook.org , For the 32-bit capability, I first install multilib packages by following the instructions from http://www.slackware.com/~alien/multilib/ .
After its successful installation, I reboot the system. The first thing I install was adobe-reader (9.5.5) from https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1.../adobe-reader/. It is working fine in my Xfce desktop.
Now I need to install the VLC player. As to the site, https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.2/multimedia/vlc/ may I 1st install all these dependencies one by one and then start the rest of the process i.e slackbuild and then Source Download?
2- If I see http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slac...lc/pkg64/14.2/ then, in that case, may I only install
Code:# installpkg vlc-3.0.10-x86_64-1alien.txzVLC installation is confusing me. What step may I take for its complete installation ? Should be thankful If you may kindly guide me .
