Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson announced Monday that Jason Peters offered to switch from guard to left tackle, according to Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pederson said Peters' decision was "one of those pleasant surprises that we were hoping would come true" but refused to go into contract details.

Peters previously said he wouldn't move back without his deal being adjusted after Andre Dillard was lost to a season-ending injury.

"He was excited to move to left tackle. I'm thrilled to death," said Pederson.

Pederson also revealed the team worked out former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Cordy Glenn prior to Peters' decision.

Peters has put together a Hall of Fame-worthy career in 16 seasons with the Eagles and Buffalo Bills. He has one Super Bowl title (LII), nine Pro Bowl nods, and six All-Pro selections.
