Note for maintainers: util-linux tests and new "tester" user

I'm posting this here because I'm no longer on the LFS mailing lists. Hopefully someone will see it and pass it on.

LFS 10.0 uses a specialised "tester" user for non-root tests instead of "nobody" as before. This is set up early in chroot. The UID is obtained from the ownership of the current terminal. But since we are root, this UID is 0.

The util-linux tests refused to run under su tester because the UID was 0. I edited /etc/passwd to reset the tester UID to 9 and the tests then ran successfully.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=iPE3qYq2Sns:K5czOcouMDs:F7zBnMy latest?i=iPE3qYq2Sns:K5czOcouMDs:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=iPE3qYq2Sns:K5czOcouMDs:gIN9vFwiPE3qYq2Sns
