Rapid Covid-19 testing devices rushed onto the Australian market are far less accurate than their manufacturers have claimed, and the expert leading a government-initiated review says they should not be used to detect acute cases.
In the early stages of the pandemic, the federal government allowed a large number of rapid Covid-19 testing devices onto the market with relatively little scrutiny.
