New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate was made inactive for Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a hamstring issue.
The veteran had been listed as questionable for the affair.
Tate missed the first four games of last season because of a suspension for a failed drug test. He wound up playing 11 of the next 12 games and posted 676 yards and six touchdowns.
With Tate unavailable for the season opener, the Giants figure to feature Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram more prominently in their passing attack.
