Report: 49ers hopeful Kittle can return Week 3; Aiyuk, Sanu to debut vs. Jets
The San Francisco 49ers believe star tight end George Kittle will be ready to return for the Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
An MRI revealed that Kittle's knee injury is specifically an MCL sprain, which usually requires a multi-week absence. However, Kittle has already been walking without a limp around the team's practice facility.
With the 26-year-old ruled out for Sunday's contest versus the New York Jets, the 49ers' offense will turn to tight ends Jordan Reed and Ross Dwelley.
San Francisco does have good injury news. The team expects first-round rookie receiver Brandon Aiyuk - who missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury - and recently signed wideout Mohamed Sanu to play against the Jets.
