Never get any updates

Hello, I have a Debian 10.5 install that never seems to get any updates. I run apt update etc but nothing ever seems to get updated. I can install programs ok, and have the default apt sources file. Could I have turned anything else off?
The system is pretty lightweight, just runs as a basic media computer. So mostly firefox for watching things. So perhaps there just hasn't been updates...
