Darnold played through sprained throwing shoulder vs. Broncos
New York Jets head coach Adam Gase announced quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a sprain to his right throwing shoulder during Thursday's loss to the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Darnold was driven to the turf on a sack late in the first quarter and exited the game for a short period. He was taken to the locker room to be evaluated but returned early in the second quarter and finished the contest.
The third-year pro completed 23 of 42 passes for 230 yards without a touchdown pass or interception in the 37-28 defeat. He was sacked six times.
New York is now 0-4 this season and will next face the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 11.
