[testing] inexplicable aptitude recommends

Aptitude upgrade in testing recommends several *nvidia* graphics packages on Intel (Haswell) hardware that, based on lspci, includes zero nvidia and zero amd components, while apt upgrade makes no such recommendations. Can someone explain why apt seems vastly more sensible here?
