Lamar Jackson was surprisingly absent from the Baltimore Ravens' practice Wednesday, but the quarterback's status doesn't appear to be a concern for the team ahead of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jackson was sidelined due to a knee injury that isn't considered serious, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The reigning NFL MVP's absence was for "precautionary reasons," Schefter adds.

Jackson hasn't missed a game due to injury since stepping up as the Ravens' starter midway through his rookie campaign in 2018.

The 23-year-old, who broke the NFL single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback last season, has completed 68.4% of his passes for 769 yards and seven touchdowns against one interception through four games this campaign. He's also rushed for 235 yards and one score.

The Ravens' depth chart under center also features Robert Griffin III, who's been Baltimore's backup quarterback for the last three seasons, and second-year dual-threat option Trace McSorley.
