Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield does not believe the rib injury he suffered Sunday will prevent him from playing in Week 6.

"Oh, yeah. Mama didn't raise no wuss," Mayfield said when asked if he thought he could play next Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave an update on his signal-caller's condition Monday and told reporters Mayfield "is sore, and we'll see how he works through it this week," according to NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano.

The 25-year-old was injured when he was hit after making a throw in the second half. He exited the field and headed to the medical tent but returned without missing a snap.

X-rays that were taken after the game reportedly came back negative, according to The Fan's Daryl Ruiter.

Mayfield's play has helped the Browns jump out to a 4-1 record, with the field general throwing nine touchdowns versus just four interceptions.

The Browns are in for a huge divisional matchup in Week 6, heading to Pittsburgh to take on the undefeated Steelers.
