Mate Desktop, more specifically ... CAJA ... anyone?

Hi.
I've been using the XFCE desktop for the past 6 years, regardless if old or new computer, it just happens to be my favorite desktop because it's so easy to customize. That said, my favorite file manager is CAJA though, which I've always pulled in from the repos. I like pretty much everything about it, most of all the ease of connecting to other computers in our house via ssh and the built-in music preview for audio files, simply by hovering over a file with the mouse cursor (not even a click required).
Anyway, in my latest MX Linux setup from a couple of months ago, the music previews stopped working.
Everything else works fine. Searches, Image Thumbnails, Moving/Copying/Renaming, Bookmarks, etc. And yeah, the audio files play just fine too when you click on them. It's just the audible audio preview that appears to not work anymore. Does anyone have any idea why that might be? Anyone else encounter this? Re-Installing Caja doesn't appear to help .... :(
