Popups are back.

After browser developers seemingly got a handle on the once-massive popup problem, it seems that the coders are back. Now it is exit popups that aren't effected by browser settings. (Unless you turn of Javascript). Even with a legitimate site like Snopes, every movement of the mouse off the page gets an offer to send you notificationsxxxx spam on a daily basis. Lesser mainstream sites sometimes get an exit popup that has nothing to do with exiting, being just an ordinary ad from a third party. Fortunately, it seems that the coders cannot lock the page waiting for some response. The back arrow or the close X still works to quit the page.
Not a rant as yet, just an observation of what seems to be coming.
