Linux (kde-neon) UEFI & windows 7 MBR ?
by Johannes33 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#59HWV)
Hi,
I just installed windows 7 x64 and thought that I would get the best of both worlds. Computer intense stuff that can not be run in wine and my scanner run on windows 7. The rest on kde-neon (UEFI,GUID). I have now after the installation and some subsequent installations of programs relized that windows 7 has installed in mbr mode.
Grub can not boot windows 7 and update-grub also does not help. I have to open bios every time to change boot order to switch between OS partitions.
Is this fixable?
On top of that I get an error that says sparse file not allowed after I leave grub and boot kde-neon. I do not know if this issue is connected so I post it here as well.
I tried to run boot-repair live environment but there it said boot repair can not remove grub (the algorithm of boot-repair is to remove grub and reinstall a fresh copy).
I got a paste-bin from boot-repair, run as a live environment, if someone are interested

Suggestions?
Also if you know a good tutorial on how to edit the files in /etc/grub.d/
