networking manager help needed
by yonnieboy from LinuxQuestions.org on (#59NPA)
I used to configure devices daily as a job. I used ubuntu, and in the network manager I'd type in the IP address, subnet mask and gateway, then type in the device IP in the browser and hit enter. Actually, it seems many times I didn't need to do much of that, just type in the browser the IP address of the device. But that doesn't seem to work anymore.
Presently I'm using Fedora, latest as of 10/28/20, don't know the version #. This network manager is hosed. I need to connect to the device with a LAN cable, it's not on a network yet. I have to configure it first. The network manager remembers what I type and won't let me change what I typed the last time. I have to delete the whole profile and start over. This seems like nonsense to me and very obstreperous and broken. Is there another application I need to install to make this new to me fedora network manager function right?
